"Time is Money. History of Civilisation and Economy on the Example of Ruda Śląska" is a permanent exhibition of our Museum. It shows the history of the city through the perspective of the industrial revolution and development of the economy from the Middle Ages, through successive eras, to the present day.

The permanent exhibition of the Maksymilian Chrobok City Museum Time is Money. The History of Civilisation and Economy on the Example of Ruda Śląska focuses on the development of knowledge in the field of economy and entrepreneurship based on the history of the present-day Ruda Śląska. The history of the city is shown through the perspective of the industrial revolution and dynamic development of the economy. The exhibition addresses basic economic issues.

The exhibition occupies two floors in eight themed rooms. This multimedia exhibition, through a variety of exhibition means which allow for a variety of narratives, is aimed at a wide audience: individual visitors, families with children and organised school and even pre-school groups. A lot of the content is conveyed according to the principle of "teaching by playing", thanks to an interesting form of communication and interactive elements, such as economic games and quizzes. It can therefore be an excellent complement to the schools' curriculum.

The multimedia in the exhibition do not stand alone, but comment, explain and illustrate the context of the exhibits. The exhibition leads from medieval beginnings through successive eras to the present-day Ruda Śląska.

Among the most valuable objects on display are archaeological objects discovered at the Kochłowice settlement, minerals, mining stone, tools, banners, sculptures, postcards and photographs depicting the former town, sculptures paintings, etc.
